Molecular Formula: WO3.Molecular Weight: 231.85. Specific Gravity: 7.16.
The melting point is 1473oC but starting to volatilize when the temperature is higher than 1750.
Tungsten Trioxide is light yellow crystal powder. It is difficult soluble in acid and insoluble in water but soluble in caustic alkali.It is stable in the air under normal temperature but becomes orange color on heating. Under heating conditions the tungsten trioxide reacts with Chlorine and generates WOCl4.
Application
Tungsten Trioxide is used to produce tungsten metal, X Phosphor Screen and Ceramic Pigment.
